Starry Starry Lightning Bolts

This is my second attempt at recreating Jane's lightning bolt mani. Are her manis awesome or what?! My first attempt turned out crappy but hey! Learn from your mistakes! I get really lazy doing these types of manis because I have to wait ages for the polish to dry in between applying each layer to create the lightning bolt. It's definitely no quick mani!

I'm not 100% happy with this one either but at least I was able to do a double lightning bolt. The only problem really, was keeping the tape straight and on point enough to apply the 3rd polish layer/ 2nd part of the lightning bolt!

Tell me what you think! Are you guys patient enough to wait for these types of manis to dry?! I'm thinking maybe just accent finger next time! (Oops, and excuse the dry hands, I should know better!)

  2. I love Jane's manicures and I think you did an awesome job with this lightning bolt. Kudos to you! I would do it, but I don't have the patience for nail art anymore.

  7. It looks fantastic! Jane's taping is flawless, I don't know how she does it, but these are right up there with it, I'm not seeing anything wonky!

  10. This looks great! I don't know why you aren't 100% happy with it!
Personally I wouldn't try this as I'm not patient enough and I never have much success with tape manicures. I'll just have to admire this style from afar...

  11. This looks awesome! I like to do manis that take a long time in front of the computer and watch a movie or tv-show. Then I don't get bored if I have to wait 8) Or I just do a base color one day and the tape thing the day after.

  12. Thanks for your encouraging comments as always :) I love tape manis but just can't deal with the drying time. Even with SV!

@Nihrida - I'm starting to lose my patience a little with nail art as well. Mostly don't have the time. If only there were more hours in the day!

@Helga - I did my base colour the day before I did the tape bit. It helps a bit with the drying time but it means I can't get a proper full mani done straight away! :(

  13. I REALLY like this design! I think that it came out perfect! I bought a set of design cutting scissors but I haven't attempted any tape mani's yet. Great design!
