Talk about a bargain!

I love it when I can get my hands on a bargain!!! I've been getting trigger happy on Ebay again and have bagged myself some pretties from La Femme and Milani recently:

* La Femme polishes - Egyptian Gold, Azure, Saphire (purple glitter - this one looks used!), Odyssey
* Milani - Metallic Mango, Devoted 2 U

I grabbed Fudge by Collection 2000 on my way home from work today. The colour isn't all that exciting (at least in the bottle) but I just loved the name...yum!

The UK distributor for Nubar was having a sale so I couldn't help but order Reclaim and Violet Sparkle. I love it when I don't have to pay full price for stuff :)

I also grabbed a few accessories from Primark. You know how it is when you walk into Primark...you were meant to just buy some tights and end up with a load of stuff because everything is so pretty and cheap.
I bought 2 adorned headbands to compliment my short haircut and a new make-up travel bag (although I already have 5). The red and pink vintage flowers reminded me of a make-up pouch my grandmother had when I was little :) Each of these items were only £1.50 each!

Some pretties and 2 sweetie pies

It's been a very tiring day. A tiring week for that matter! But before I go and pass out on my bed, I wanted to show you guys some pretties I have received this past week.

Well, guess what? The Nfu Oh polishes were ordered back in July but because Viis Illusalong don't deliver Nfu Oh to the UK, I had to get the package to be sent to my mother in law's house in Greece, it then got lost somewhere and finally arrived in the UK this week! Phew!!! I thought I would never hold those pretty bottles :(
I also got Tristam because I don't own any of the A-England polishes so I thought this was a good place to start.

I have already swatched the Nails Inc Magnetic polish in Trafalgar Square here and I was quite impressed so on a bit of an impulse, I also got Houses of Parliament (purple) and Big Ben (gold) - not sure why I needed them all though! Nails Inc sent me Heddon Street for becoming a member of their reward programme.

And here are my two sweetie pies snuggling up. Eggbert is holding and licking Lebowski's head. He loves to do that. Lol!!

More Fall treats - Make-up, Body butters and Scrubs

My husband is spending the day with a friend and won't be back until very late. After doing a bit of cleaning in the morning, rummaging through the 2012 Ikea catalogue (I want to re-decorate our bedroom) and checking my google reader, I went for a walk to our local high street! I only get paid next week but I couldn't help myself. I had to grab a few treats in Superdrug.

No nail polish today, instead I got these little goodies:

Sleek Make-up Storm i-Divine Palette & Pout Polish SPF15 Tainted Lip Conditioner. I blame this one on Nihrida. Her swatches of the Sleek Palettes are amazing and she recommends them. At £6.49 a pop I thought I'd give them a go!
The Tainted lip conditioner was too sweet to pass, it smells so good and I love the pouty, glossy lips that this gives:

Some Nail Whitening Tables. I've never tried these but sometimes when my nails get stained from certain polishes, it really annoys me. These are supposed to be like a fizzy spa for your nails, they "enhance and maintain the nail's natural whiteness":

St. Ives Blemish Fighting Apricot Scrub. The Tea Tree oil scrub I am currently using is nearly finished but it's not doing my oily skin much good so I'm going to put this one to the test.
Plum & Red Cherry Body Butter. Although I have oily facial skin, I have dry skin on the rest of my body. This body butter seems perfect for winter and the smell...ummm. I can't even begin to describe it! I've never tried the Superdrug range of Body Butters so am curious:

Mini Haul & Some Pretties from Portugal

My mum has just come back from Portugal again (she goes there quite often, we have family there), and she brought me back a few pretties.

The colours she picked are quite bright and summery, maybe because it's still scorching hot over there, but I'm trying to embrace fall colours right now! Nonetheless, I really like what she picked and I'll be sure to use them, even before next summer :)

She brought back Andreia 5, 107 and 109. I've never used this brand, I'm not even sure if it's Portuguese or Brazilian but apparently it's meant to be really good. She also got me Risque Pop. This is a matte polish so I was really surprised she picked out a matte, I didn't think she knew the difference.

Here is a quick peek at what they look like! I'll swatch them properly later:

I've spent quite a bit on polish this month (I'll tell you about that later) so I was trying really hard not to give in but whilst on my lunch break yesterday, I went into Boots and Superdrug to get some toiletries and I just couldn't resist these:

They are a nice little addition to my autumn/ winter polishes and I'm getting ready for Xmas with that red glitter :) Pin It

August Haul

Wow! I feel a bit silly and crappy now. Why, you wonder? Well, I got all these goodies in the post yesterday, I thought I'd "spoil" myself... yay for that... I was really happy with my mini haul and couldn't wait to try them, etc! But then I saw Rebecca's August haul last night and my inner dandy little flower withered! Lol!
Her haul was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. I wish I could buy that much polish (in sale or not). I'm jealous Rebecca :-). If I bought all those lovely goodies I would roll around in them naked, Lol!

Anyway, here is what I got in the post. Can't wait to try all these pretties:

Illamasqua Purity, Butter London Victoriana, Milani Hi-Res

Cappuccino, Coffee Addict, Golden Nightmare, Cobalt

Holo Chrome, Chunky Holo Purple, Blue Eyed Girl, Chunky Holo Black

Accessories Haul & New Haircut

This isn't a nail related post (sorry) but I just needed to share my new haircut and as a consequence of this, a recent accessories haul (pic heavy) :)

Most of you probably wouldn't know this about me but I've recently cut my long, mid-back length hair into a very short boyish cut. Since I was a little girl, I've always had very long hair, so I was really scared that it wouldn't suit me or that it was going to turn out crazy and then what? I would have to wear a hat until it grew out...Lol!
Anyway, I'm really happy with it. I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. It's waaaay easier to wash, blow dry and style. However, as a result of the haircut, I look about 16 and because I'm only 5"3", my friends say I look like a little teenage girl. Better than looking like a teenage boy which I did the other day when I wore a tracksuit and trainers. Here is what is looks like:

So...because I don't want to look like a boy, I've recently been on a rampage slowly stocking up on girly accessories (I don't wear skirts or heels very often so that doesn't really help either).
I never really wore accessories when I had long hair apart from a pair of studs every now and then, so roll on the chandelier earrings, costume rings, layered medallion necklaces and girly hair clips! Here are a few things I bought:

Bows are from Claire's, other hair clips from Primark and from a stall seller in Brighton. Bracelets are from Topshop as is the Turquoise ring with red rhinestones. Butterfly ring is from Select, pink & white vintage ring is from Primark and the smaller turquoise ring my mum brought me back from Thailand.

Earrings are also a mixture of high street shops and Camden Town market stalls.

Horn necklace is from a thrift market, owl and bug from Primark and the layered keys necklace I put together with a pearl necklace my grandmother gave me, some keyring stones and charms and the larger key is also from Primark.

More lovely goodies - Mavala, Hello Kitty, H&M, L.A Colors, GOSH

I know I said that I wouldn’t be hauling anymore polish anytime soon but oh well… I got the Mavala on sale and couldn’t help it!!! The hubby bought me the H&M, the L.A Colors and the Hello Kitty polishes – how darling is he?!

I have never tried the Swiss brand Mavala and have heard good things about it so I wanted to try them for myself.  The mini bottles look like such pretty dainty things!!
I had told my husband in the past that I was trying to get my hands on some “strange” colours, i.e. not your regular reds and pinks and voila…how strange is this terracotta looking H&M polish. The colour is almost so ugly that it makes it beautiful!

Of course I’m not really in need of bright pinks and blues but he knows how much I love Hello Kitty. Yes... I’m 27 but I still have lots of Hello Kitty and Betty Boop stuff…LOL!

And the LA colors – he said he spotted these on his way to a meeting and they were so cheap (which isn’t usual for American brands in the UK) so he bought them. TBH, I can’t wait to try the silver shimmer one called Gunmetal! The GOSH Metallic Purple sneaking into the side there, I bought that in Superdrug...it just looked so pretty in the bottle!

:-) xoxo

Nail Polish Haul...before a self-imposed ban!!!

So, a little earlier this afternoon, I received my package from Transdesign. Surfing that website was probably the first thing I did when I got paid last week!!! I wasn't expecting it so quickly because overseas orders usually take much longer than 4 working days! I spent so much money (including shipping) that I must stay on the wagon for a while now before I can justify spending more money on polish.
Here is what I got. A little bit of each brand that isn't widely available in the UK. Swatches of some of these to follow soon:

Here is a close-up:
China Glaze - First Mate, Misa - Pour Me Something Tall & Strong
China Glaze - Towel Boy Toy, New York - Hot Baby Blue
New York - Vegas Silver, Colour Club - Covered in Diamonds, Orly - Purple Pleather
Colour Club - In Bloom, Colour Club - Best Dressed List
China Glaze - Senorita Bonita, China Glaze - Liquid Leather, China Glaze - Recycle
China Glaze - Wagon Trail, China Glaze - Sugar High
