Blue on Blue with Shimmer Polish Maria

It just so happens that this morning, I had put some Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream on my nails! I hadn't worn it for so long and it's such a pretty saturated sky blue.

The blue lover in me couldn't neglect Shimmer Polish Maria which was still sitting in my untrieds stash but because I didn't want my whole mani to be too glittery, I opted for an accent nail of Maria with some silver studs. Maria is definitely for blue lovers as it's packed with blue glitters of all different shapes and sizes.
I haven't worn anything that even remotely resembles nail art in the past few weeks as the smell of polish still bothers me a lot if I spend too long around it, so one tiny accent nail is perfect right now.

You can purchase Shimmer Polish directly from Cindy's Etsy store. There are also lots of beautiful swatches and product information on their website and Facebook page.

piCture pOlish - Hope

piCture pOlish Hope! This is another collaboration shade for piCture pOlish, this time with french blog Vernis en Folie.
It's a dark blue jelly with scattered holo and a few pieces of blue hex glitter mixed in which I love as it sets the polish apart from other scattered holos. Opacity is great as with all piCture pOlishes I've tried. This is two coats. For the accent nail, I used some regular blue rhinestones and round gold studs from the Born Pretty Store.

Isn't it so pretty? It's got amazing dimension to it.

piCture pOlish can be purchased directly from their website - picturepolish.com.au. They do international shipping. You can also purchase it at various etailers throughout the world. Check out their Network page for more info. You can keep updated on any piCture pOlish news via their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Shimmer Polish - Eva, Irene, Jasmine

Today I have a few Shimmer Polishes to share with you. Most of you have probably heard and even swatched some Shimmers yourselves but for those who haven't, Shimmer Polish make beautifully dense glitter bombs in an array of colours. The glitters are usually small to medium in size and although they are quite densely packed, they apply really smoothly. No need for careful placement, fishing or manoeuvring.

The three glitters I'm showing you today are Eva, Irene and Jasmine. I know this picture is showing four polishes but I'll be showing you the last one (Lorene) in tomorrow's post :)

Eva is a beautiful berry red jelly packed with glitters, that can be worn on it's own or layered. This is two thin coats of Eva on it's own. It's one of my favourites too!

Irene is described as a "champagne golden silver". It can also be worn on it's own. The swatches below are two coats (middle finger has two thicker coats which gives complete opacity). It sparkles so much and it reminds me of China Glaze I'm Not Lion.

Jasmine is an aquamarine glitter which consists of green, blue, gold and I can see some red glitters in there too. This is one coat over Mavala Lagoon.

You can purchase Shimmer Polish directly from Cindy's Etsy store. There are also lots of beautiful swatches and product information on their website and Facebook page.

Screaming Teal

A very quick and bright mani today with two polishes from my untrieds stash. This is 2 coats of Pure Ice Scream with Milani Teal on the accent nail (also 2 coats layered over a coat of a random teal polish I had laying around).
This is my first time trying Pure Ice and I loved the formula. It's very buttery and opaque in two easy coats. I'm a massive fan of the Milani chunky glitters, if you like your blues and greens, you will love this chunky glitter too. It reminds me of mermaids.

butter LONDON - Henley Regatta

I've had this polish - butter LONDON Henley Regatta - sitting in my untrieds since before Christmas. The hubby got me this as a little surprise along with British Racing Green which I am also yet to try! Since my Leighton Denny Undercurrent mani was intact, no chips or tip wear, I thought it would be a good base for Henley Regatta.

HR is a blue and green micro glitter suspended in a clear base. It will only become opaque on it's own with 3 coats, the pictures below are 2 coats over LD Undercurrent. It's super-in-your-face-shine-and-sparkle :) However, I really like the subtle sparkle that one coat gives over both dark and light polishes!

Starry Starry Lightning Bolts

This is my second attempt at recreating Jane's lightning bolt mani. Are her manis awesome or what?! My first attempt turned out crappy but hey! Learn from your mistakes! I get really lazy doing these types of manis because I have to wait ages for the polish to dry in between applying each layer to create the lightning bolt. It's definitely no quick mani!

I'm not 100% happy with this one either but at least I was able to do a double lightning bolt. The only problem really, was keeping the tape straight and on point enough to apply the 3rd polish layer/ 2nd part of the lightning bolt!

Tell me what you think! Are you guys patient enough to wait for these types of manis to dry?! I'm thinking maybe just accent finger next time! (Oops, and excuse the dry hands, I should know better!)

Tips please ?!?! - More Funky French Tips

Hi again :-)

I just wanted to share a quick French Tip mani I did last night before bed. Tips in whatever colour (and shape lol) are my "go to mani" when I don't have the time or patience for anything else. I generally love french tips a lot and its almost a compulsion to tip nearly all of my manis. Hmmm, maybe its a phase !!!

I had wanted to play with this colour combo for a while, for some reason I really like blue and brown together, strange uhhh?
The blue glitter polish was meant to be another tip on top of the brown tip (so 2 french tips if you know what I mean) but when I applied it to my thumb it got a bit messy so I decided to just apply it over the whole brown tip :-)

Can you see the tip on my ring finger isn't crisp? Lol. It got a bit messy with the scotch tape :-(

I have only been wearing this for about 24 hrs but I can tell that its one of those that would last on my fingers for a good week or more. The glitter in the tip obviously helps prolongation. I tried to take off the polish on my thumb and although the blue polish came off easily, the tip took me like 15 mins..lol !!!

Products used:
* Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
* L'oreal Ceramide Resist - (sorry, I've had this polish for so long that the label with the colour has completely rubbed off, but its number 304)
* Nail Art Pen & Brush - Light blue glitter

Bye for now :-)
