Rose and Gold Touches

Today I'm wearing a soft pink shade. Babydoll by Leighton Denny. It's one of my favourite pinks along with Jessica Samba Parade, although I say that about a lot of shades! The application on this one was quite streaky and it needed three coats to even everything out but nothing too bad for a pastel.

My latest attempts at nail art have been feeble to say the least so I kept it quite simple with a mish-mash of glitter and stamping.
The two gold glitters used on the accent finger are W7 Gold Dazzle and a coat of a Brazilian brand called Dote Preciosos - Cristais Dourados, sent to me by Bia. I stamped using BM14 and Barry M Golf and Silver Foil.

My Las Vegas Nails - What would you wear?

Earlier this year, I spent a week in Las Vegas. It wasn't at all what I was expecting, it was way better! It's one of those places that you need a holiday after holidaying there! There's always something super exciting to do and see and the days are just exciting as the nights!

Whilst we were there, we went to shows and events every night and I wanted to show you what I wore on a night out in Vegas. As you guys know, I'm more partial to simpler designs and nothing too cheesy so I stayed away from drawing the Ace of Spades or Casino chips on my nails and opted for something that would fit in with the glamour of Vegas and still matched all my evening dresses.

I wore Leighton Denny Sensual Glam with a rhinestone encrusted accent nail! Sensual Glam is an off white packed with silver glass flecks which gives it that extra sparkle. My bottle is already half empty, I love this shade so much.

I used nail glue to stick down the rhinestones otherwise they would fall off all the time. A couple still fell off throughout the week but I took the little tube of glue and a few spare rhinestones with me so I replaced them straight away. I was surprised the whole look actually stayed put for about 6 days.

What do you guys think? What would be your nail polish/ nail art of choice for a night out in Vegas? Pin It

Undercurrent - Leighton Denny

Today's polish is another Leighton Denny gem called Undercurrent. It's a deep, dark forest green creme and the formula is amazing as I've come to expect from Leighton Denny polishes. It's fully opaque in one coat and it actually looks much lighter with just one coat. This swatch is two coats which darkens it up a little.

It's not super shiny which I actually like (this swatch has no top coat). It's a very vampy and interesting winter colour if you are looking for something that isn't dark purple, burgundy or deep red. It doesn't look black indoors but very close. This colour reminds me of NARS Zulu although this is a creme and not a jelly like Zulu.

I know what you're thinking. "Did it stain?". I've used it on my toes before, for about a week and it didn't stain so I don't expect it to stain my nails either!

Softly Pink

It's been a while since I've posted a pink Wednesday mani, or anything pink for that matter. So here is something I put together last week before I started my glue-on nails experiment (which I will update you on soon).

For this mani I used Leighton Denny Babydoll which is currently my favourite"baby pink" and 17 Pink Grapefruit for the gradient. Stamp is BM221 and Konad White Polish.

Cute time

It's been a few days since I posted anything nail related. I got back from holiday a couple of days ago and don't feel all that great. I've literally just been moping around, doing nothing!

Today's mani is similar to something I saw in a Kawaii nail art website and thought it would be a great idea to try and recreate it. I sort of regretted it half way through. It was way too fiddly and a PITA to do in a short space of time when the 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow were still wet. But alas... this is how it turned out. I suppose it caught my eye because it's cute but I wouldn't know exactly how to describe it!

Glitter & Spark Overload!!!

Glitter is always a fail proof mani right? Wrong! Well, at least for me anyway! I messed up a glitter gradient mani :(
I really had high hopes for this one with a neutral base and lots of red and silver glitter to keep with the festive theme, but what you see in these pics wasn't exactly what I had in mind! It's like the glitter fairy threw up on my nails! I still had to post it though because it took me so long to do it AND remove it, that I would feel really guilty if I didn't.

I used Leighton Denny Sensual Glam as a base colour. I got this polish free with Harpers Bazaar magazine. The UK January edition is out now and they are giving away 6 different colours.
Sensual Glam is a sheer milky white with silver micro shimmer, which you can somewhat see in the bottle but it doesn't really translate onto the nail.
I'm not a fan of very sheer polishes so I had to do 3 coats to get a good level of opacity. However, I really like this colour. I used to wear pearly/ whitish polishes almost all the time a couple of years ago and now I rarely do.

Polka Dots & Pearls

I didn't leave this lovely soft baby pink alone! Oh no! I had to go play around with other colours and bits & bobs!

Is this too girly? Baby pink, baby blue, and assorted pastel dots covered with pearls? Maybe it is but I love swaying from one extreme (very dark vampy hardcore colours) to another (pink, pastels, rhinestones and pearls), depending on my mood :-)

It's not the most "wearable" mani but I just added the pearls for the photo. It would still look really pretty with just the pastel polka dots.

Babydoll - Leighton Denny

Here is a nice soft pink for a change. I hadn't worn pink in quite a while. In fact, I thought it would be best to remove the "pink Wednesday" icon from my blog as I don't always wear pink on Wednesday's, Lol!!!

This is also my first Leighton Denny nail polish and it came in the October Glossy box . This brand never really appealed to me, I'm not sure why because they have quite a good range of colours (I love Jailbird from the Criminal Collection). However, the main reason would most definitely be the price at £11 per bottle. Usually, if I ever pay that much for a nail polish, I will go for something I know and have used many times before, like OPI or Essie.

This soft baby pink creme is called Babydoll. I think it's been discontinued because I can't find it anywhere. This shade would probably wash out pale skin tones but I like the way it looks on my skin tone. I had no problems with the formula, the first coat applies streaky but with a second coat, it's perfectly opaque. I can't tell you about longevity yet as I've just applied it today. For the price, I hope to get quite some wear out of it.
