Rock Chick Barbie (Born Pretty Studs Review)

The last time the ladies at Born Pretty Store sent me some items for review, these amazing gold plated studs were also in there! Ever since I saw Sammy's "Stud Up!" week, I set my rhinestone wheel and fimo canes aside and jumped at the opportunity to try out some studs. I can't get enough of them!

Influenced in part by the studs, here is a Rock Chick Barbie look. I used China Glaze Stone Cold and Risque Pop (which is a Brazilian brand) on the accent finger. Amy Grace also did something similar to this in gunmetal and dove gray and I absolutely loved it.

These studs are the 1.5mm gold and cost $5.86. I don't know exactly how many are in a pack but it looks like there are at least 1000.
I didn't know how easy or difficult it would be to work with these but as they have a completely flat back, they stay on quite easily. I didn't use glue, I just stuck them on whilst the polish was still wet and they stayed put.

Born Pretty also sell square studs, they come in silver, gunmetal gray as well as gold and in various sizes. Click here to check out what they have on offer. You can use my discount code VA7J61 for 7% off or just click on the Born Pretty logo on my sidebar.

Enchanted Forest Glitter Sandwich

I hope everyone is having a great Bank Holiday weekend! This afternoon I have a bright green glitter and jelly sandwich to show you which I did a couple of weeks ago when my nails were still short!

I used Risque Verde Esmeralda, a vibrant green jelly from Brazil as my jelly base! Risque polishes don't get as much attention as Speciallita ones, at least not over here, but they have some amazing collections and colours.
Sandwiched between this jelly goodness is one coat of NYX Enchanted Forest - large, medium and small pieces of hex holo gold and green glitter.

Mini Haul & Some Pretties from Portugal

My mum has just come back from Portugal again (she goes there quite often, we have family there), and she brought me back a few pretties.

The colours she picked are quite bright and summery, maybe because it's still scorching hot over there, but I'm trying to embrace fall colours right now! Nonetheless, I really like what she picked and I'll be sure to use them, even before next summer :)

She brought back Andreia 5, 107 and 109. I've never used this brand, I'm not even sure if it's Portuguese or Brazilian but apparently it's meant to be really good. She also got me Risque Pop. This is a matte polish so I was really surprised she picked out a matte, I didn't think she knew the difference.

Here is a quick peek at what they look like! I'll swatch them properly later:

I've spent quite a bit on polish this month (I'll tell you about that later) so I was trying really hard not to give in but whilst on my lunch break yesterday, I went into Boots and Superdrug to get some toiletries and I just couldn't resist these:

They are a nice little addition to my autumn/ winter polishes and I'm getting ready for Xmas with that red glitter :) Pin It

NOTD: Mystical Sun - Gradient nails

Hi Everyone. Today I wanted to show you a mani a did earlier.
I was playing around with my BM plates as I haven't used most of the designs on them and when I saw the mystical sun on the very first BM plate, I thought ...hmmmm..."sunset"!! That also meant I would get to use orange polish which I rarely do. I used sponging to create the sunset colours (red, yellow and orange) and then randomly stamped suns with Konad Black Pearl stamping polish:

What I used:
* Claire's (sorry no colour name or number but as you can see its a dark burnt orange)
* Barry M Nail Paint - Lemon Ice Cream
* Risque - Carmin (This is a Brazilian brand polish which I got on holidays in Portugal)
* Konad Stamping Polish - Black Pearl
* Konad Top Coat (and it still smudged a little)

Bug Nails: Blinged Up Ladybird

Good morning all

Yesterday, my cat Eggbert was playing with a ladybird on our balcony. He was just staring  at  it and trying to smell it...Lol !!!

So, as I had seen quite a few posts from other bloggers on ladybirds, I decided to give it ago. Although I did give Miss Ladybird a bit of a rhinestone and glitter makeover...ooppss !!! Look at her beady little eyes...

Products used:
- Barry M Nail Paint - Black
- Risque - Carmim
- Nail Star Nail Art Brush - Black and Silver Glitter & Rhinestones for the beady eyes :-)

The Ladybird Eggbert was playing with was actually orange in colour so next time I think I'm going to do multi coloured ladybird.

And here is my little boy latter on, looking at what mummy is doing. He loves sitting there and just staring !!!

I love bugs on nails. If you guys have any bugs that you have done, post them up. I would live to see them.
