Hunger Games Capitol Colors - Riveting

Kicking off my China Glaze The Hunger Games Capitol Colors week is Riveting, my favourite of the bunch! When I first saw a promo shot for this collection and of course had only seen bottle shots, I thought this polish was rather "meh", but the more swatches I came across, the more I fell in love with it! In fact, it wasn't until I saw it mattifed on Sam's blog that I thought, I need this polish in my life right now!!!

Riveting (which represents District 3 technology/ electronics) is such a bright orange jelly packed with gold shimmer flecks. It's like a flakie polish but the pieces are much smaller. What surprised me with this one is that it's super pigmented and perfectly opaque in two coats! The formula is a dream to work with, so smooth and easy to control.

In real life it's that much brighter and mesmerising, I immediately thought of glowing embers (which I love staring at when I'm sitting in front of the fireplace).

Here is Riveting mattified:

Skulls and Bows

From the moment I saw this mani on Kayla Shevonne, I knew I had to recreate it! I squealed because it was just so cute! Then I beat myself up for not having thought of it before! How I have not yet done a mani with skulls, bows and black dots is beyond me, so thank you Kayla for doing this awesome mani! If you haven't yet visited Kayla's blog, do so now! She inspires a lot of my nail designs and her tutorials are really detailed and easy to follow!

I wore this many for 4 days (doesn't happen very often) and I can see myself doing it again, even with a different base colour because it's so quick and easy, yet so cute!

I used an unnamed pink as my base colour! Stamped with Konad Black polish and BM211 and added a coat of Nubar Black Polka Dot! The bow is fimo.

Pink Wednesday!!! - This way to my heart!

I did this mani a while ago when I first swatched OPI Panda-monium Pink but was keeping it for a pink Wednesday since I haven't been doing that many pink manicures lately!

I usually keep to horizontal or diagonal stripes because I think they look better on my nails but decided to give the vertical look a go too! I didn't really like the way each stripe sat next to each other so I separated them with some silver glitter! Oh, I also added the fimo heart because you all know how much I love perched fimo and how cute the dainty shapes look :)

Peachy Teddies!

Hi everyone! I was meant to post these earlier today but didn't really have the time. So, here is what I added to my peachy Stargazer mani from yesterday - some striping tape, some dots and some fimo teddy bears :)

I wouldn't really wear this mani for more than a few hours because the fimo can get really annoying, especially as I don't like to seal it with a top coat! It's super cute for a picture and that's mainly why I did it, but I got a few funny looks outside :/

What do you think? Would you wear an OTT mani like this outside?

And here is Lebowski's face when he saw this mani:

Bzzzzz...

I went to a barbecue at a friend's house yesterday and saw a few bumble bees whilst we were out in the garden (really??). It's been quite warm here lately, although not so much today!
I already had yellow on my nails from yesterday because I was thinking of doing a lightning bolt tape mani with it, so why not use tape to make something that resembles a bee (plus it's way easier than the lightning bolt)!

Here is my interpretation of the bee manicure - using tape. I can't really draw so I don't think I would even be able to draw a bee and I couldn't help but add a little fimo for extra cuteness :)

And here is a pic of my little tiger Eggbert munching on my living room plant that we always try to rescue from him. Don't worry, it's not poisonous, we've taken a sample to check! He would be munching on those bees in the garden if I let him!

Eco Warrior Mani

I love green and I love stripes (vertical, horizontal, diagonal, you name it) so I tend to do quite a few of these although my last one was quite a while ago which you can see here. I added the little fimo leaf to this one for good measure!

I called this mani Eco Warrior because I could only imagine a warrior princess in a green full body leotard, with a sparkly green cape and her nails done like this, lol! Then again, considering that only 1 of the polishes I used - Nubar Earth - says it is Formaldehyde, Phthalate and Toluene free, this mani would probably suit Poison Ivy better.

Polishes used: tips - Nubar Earth (which you can see swatched on its own here), middle - Make Up Academy Shade 13, near cuticle - Miss Sporty Green Lemon

Paradise Pink - French Tips & Salient Flowers

For Pink Wednesday yesterday, I went on and on and on about L.A Colors Paradise Pink! Lol. What can I say, I was impressed!! So before I took this mani off, I added some black french tips and fimo flowers last night.
This probably seems like a really impractical mani because the fimo is so salient, however I was actually surprised that they were still there after a whole 18 hours. They do easily get caught in my hair though...Lol!

I wouldn't usually wear this much fimo on an everyday mani but it looks pretty for the pictures :-)
