Bad Little Kitty

Before I took Nubar Mod Aqua off this morning, I had a little play around with some nail art pens from Rio Beauty. I have a few of these pens which I bought in bulk on Ebay but the Rio ones are of a higher quality and the bristles on their brushes are much better than the ones I had.

Rio do different types of these nail art pens: neon, pastel, metallic and an original set (which is the one I received). They all include 8 colours, rhinestones, nail glitter, a design chart, application brush, instructions and a step-by-step DVD which is actually very useful. I like their dual applicator bottles, as you can use both the fine brush and the detailing pen depending on which design you want to create. These sets retail for £24.99.

One of the tutorials on their DVD is how to draw little paws and you all know how much I love cats! Plus I've been meaning to do something similar to this mani for a couple of weeks now, ever since I saw it on her blog and couldn't believe how pretty it was. Can you guess whose mani I based this on? Of course you can, it's AmyGrace's Beware of the cat mani, although I replaced the little birds with paw marks as I don't have that plate.

I drew the cat with the black fine brush and the paws with the detailing pen from the set.

And here you can see what is included in each set:

Chromatic Neon Dots

Today I have something a little more colourful and lively to show you. Not that the weather calls for it but I've had it on my list of manis "to do" for a while so why not do it on a super dreary, rainy day?

I first saw this mani on Mad Manis and Deniz also did an amazing version. The silver makes the look quite robotic and futuristic but the neon polka dots add a little fun to it. I had a little trouble keeping all my dots in line as I miscalculated the space still left on the nail. Random dots are so much easier to do!

I used 2 coats of Stargazer chrome silver #232 and various neon/ bright coloured polishes for the dots.

Lebowski hasn't made an appearance on here in quite some time, here is a recent photo of him playing with his snake (wow...that actually sounds quite dirty!)

Some pretties and 2 sweetie pies

It's been a very tiring day. A tiring week for that matter! But before I go and pass out on my bed, I wanted to show you guys some pretties I have received this past week.

Well, guess what? The Nfu Oh polishes were ordered back in July but because Viis Illusalong don't deliver Nfu Oh to the UK, I had to get the package to be sent to my mother in law's house in Greece, it then got lost somewhere and finally arrived in the UK this week! Phew!!! I thought I would never hold those pretty bottles :(
I also got Tristam because I don't own any of the A-England polishes so I thought this was a good place to start.

I have already swatched the Nails Inc Magnetic polish in Trafalgar Square here and I was quite impressed so on a bit of an impulse, I also got Houses of Parliament (purple) and Big Ben (gold) - not sure why I needed them all though! Nails Inc sent me Heddon Street for becoming a member of their reward programme.

And here are my two sweetie pies snuggling up. Eggbert is holding and licking Lebowski's head. He loves to do that. Lol!!

A Hot Pink Chrome Leopard & A Snoozy Cat

I wasn't sure what to add to yesterday's Stargazer Chrome. When I'm in doubt of what to do or am lacking inspiration, I do leopard, Lol!

I used a Primark polish for the leopard spots. It's a hot pink with red undertones, the bottle has no name and a 001 number. It's my only Primark polish as I'm always afraid their polishes will lack pigmentation. I must admit this one is very good, I swatched it on my thumb and it was fully opaque in 2 coats!

The Stargazer chrome may look a bit too shiny in these pictures but that's because I added a coat of Barry M Silver to it as I showed you yesterday:

And here is a pic of Eggbert. When I got home yesterday, I found him snoozing in the bath tub! WTF?! My cats sleep in the weirdest places!

Photo shoots from the Vault!!!

I wanted to share some photos with you guys of past "works" me and my cousin have put together.
My cousin Cristina is a photographer, a digital artist - fashion being her tendency and she is also an amazing make-up artist. You can visit her website HERE.

We have been putting together"photo shoots" since we were about 11. We would get my mother's clothes and make-up and invent all sorts of themes and backdrops to create photos. There were no digital cameras when I was 11 so my mum would go crazy when we used up all her film roll, then she had to pay for the prints whilst the shop assistant looked at her weird!

My cousin has come a long way since then. She has completely immersed herself in her own creative world and I can't even begin to tell you what sort of crazy ideas we bounce off each other. We are like two little girls in a sweet shop when we are talking about our next "project". Of course money is a huge barrier as she can't afford to buy the sort of outfits, accessories and props that big production companies and magazines can. Instead we recycle my boring and bland clothes by sewing badges, sticking studs, belting it up, using a shirt as a head piece, etc... whilst she rummages through charity shops and other second hand stores to buy anything from vintage teapot sets to scary looking metal birdcages!
We use things we have laying around the house or if she is shooting outdoors (which she usually does with professional models), she has been known to use grass, leaves, tree trunks, you name it as her props.

I'm not a model by any means. Far from it. I'm 5'3 (I think!) and as shy as anything so she always has trouble even getting me out in the garden (the birds might see us, Lol!!!) but we love working together as we have the same vision and already know how we want the photos to look without having to direct poses or camera angles. I'm just her guinea-pig when her professional models bail out on her, and I love being her guinea-pig.

The pictures below were taken over the last 2 years.

We are both very busy and find it hard to get together nowadays but we have a photo shoot lined up for next week and I have my new short haircut so it's going to be an exciting one :)

In some of these photos you will also see Eggbert, my beautiful little tiger. He is so photogenic and he loves the camera, he just sits there and stares into thin air. No fussing and no complaining. Lol!

Massive pic spam coming up! Sorry I can't transfer the pics onto better quality, these are all samples.

NOTD: Meow!!! Cat & Paw Nails

Hi fellow bloggers! Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday! We have some sun here...finally!
We have a new addition to our family and Eggbert has a new friend so I thought what better way to use BM04 than to homage my little balls of fur.
I used Missguided nude polish (although I think it's more of an old rose pink) as a base which you have already seen a couple of posts ago, Barry M Nail Paint in Black for the paws and Konad Black Pearl Stamping polish for the cat and fish bone:

Bug Nails: Blinged Up Ladybird

Good morning all

Yesterday, my cat Eggbert was playing with a ladybird on our balcony. He was just staring  at  it and trying to smell it...Lol !!!

So, as I had seen quite a few posts from other bloggers on ladybirds, I decided to give it ago. Although I did give Miss Ladybird a bit of a rhinestone and glitter makeover...ooppss !!! Look at her beady little eyes...

Products used:
- Barry M Nail Paint - Black
- Risque - Carmim
- Nail Star Nail Art Brush - Black and Silver Glitter & Rhinestones for the beady eyes :-)

The Ladybird Eggbert was playing with was actually orange in colour so next time I think I'm going to do multi coloured ladybird.

And here is my little boy latter on, looking at what mummy is doing. He loves sitting there and just staring !!!

I love bugs on nails. If you guys have any bugs that you have done, post them up. I would live to see them.
