Fruit Loop & My Valentine Glitter

*This is s scheduled post, I am currently on holiday*

This is my latest Superdrug purchase (along with a couple more bottles...oops!). Fruit Loop by Collection 200 Hot Looks. Other than Barry M, I've been trying to stay clear of drugstore brands lately because I always either get a dodgy bottle or the formulas are so poor that they all need 4 coats which I can't deal with and always end up disappointed. However, sometimes I can't help it because they have really cute and fresh colours!

I assume Fruit Loop is part of their Spring/ Summer collection and it's a pastel peach which would look absolutely stunning with a tan. I nearly gave up after the first coat because it was so streaky but it eventually evened out after three coats.

I didn't really know what I wanted to do with this mani so I just started stamping and adding random things! Lol! I stamped with Konad m36 and sponged Kleancolor My Valentine onto the tips (I must do another mani with this glitter because it's so gorgeous!).

Coffee Addict

Today I have another Kleancolor pretty to show you which I got with my last Beautyjoint haul. This is Coffee Addict, a metallic blackened golden brown! I don't think it's part of their metallic range but it still has that smooth and glossy metallic finish to it. Kleancolor have quite a few polishes named after coffee and they are a very nice mix of nudes, beige's and browns. I have also swatched Cappuccino which you can see here.

Coffee Addict isn't to everyone's taste I suppose. The first thing my mum said when she saw it on my nails was "yuk"!!! Well, I guess that describes it for her but I actually really like this colour. The formula, again, as with all Kleancolor polishes I've tried up until now, is great to work with and fully opaque in two coats.

Blurple Scattered Holo

You know when you want a polish so bad that you need to have it straight away but then when it arrives, it sits on your untrieds stash for months? That's what happened to this little guy - Kleancolor Holo Chrome.

Holo Chrome is a light purple, in fact, it shifts between blue and purple depending on lighting. You can really see a rainbow in it! I was quite amazed that the scattered holo in this polish shows even under my artificial light, at night and indoors. Most holos I have look completely flat if the sun isn't shinning (granted most of them are linear holos like Nfu Oh's).

I really like Kleancolor polishes and have always had positive experiences when using them. They have some pretty cool polishes at very affordable prices! I know a lot of people don't like their strong smell but I can't really say it bothers me. Anyway, Holo Chrome doesn't smell like the other Kleancolor's I've tried. I've never had a problem with their formulas either. Application is always smooth and consistent. Holo Chrome is no exception. The formula is thick but in a nice way, it actually makes application easier to control.

This is 1 coat of Holo Chrome over an unnamed lilac polish I had lying around. It's by a brand called "Yes Love"  which I usually buy in €1 stores when I go on holidays to Spain or Portugal.

Multichrome Purple Glitter

Here is a little update to yesterday's mani. I wasn't ready to take off Perfect Plum. Well, to be honest I'm trying to wear my manis for longer than 24 hours, let's see how that goes :)

This is one coat of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple over Rimmel London Perfect Plum. I had to make the most of the tiniest bit of sun we had today!

Chunky Holo Purple is a multichrome glitter polish in a sheer purple jelly base. It is way too sheer to wear on it's own so I think it looks best layered over other polishes. If I move my hand, the multichrome"ness" of this polish really shows - from green to yellow, orange and red. I tried to capture some of the blue/ turquoise you can see in the bottle but couldn't. It is really pretty! Much more than my crappy little camera could capture.

I'm also using larger pictures than before. I like the look of large pictures on blogs but my camera isn't very good at capturing detail which is the main reason I like large pictures. I also feel that my fingers/ nails look weird in larger pics! Hmm dunno! My cousin and my mum said they prefer the smaller sized pictures. Let's see how I get on, if not, I'll have to revert back to smaller pictures.

Golden Nightmare - Kleancolor

I swatched this polish a couple of weeks ago and was really excited about it until I saw quite a long vertical crack on the side of the lid! I knew this would mean the polish would most probably be quite thick and gooey but that was nothing a bit of thinner couldn't resolve. I then opened the bottle and oh no! The brush was a mess!!! Generally, I very much like Kleancolor brushes but the bristles on this one were all over the place! Needless to say it was a nightmare to control the polish on the brush and to even keep on the nail plate. Lets just say I had a lot of clean up afterwards! I will have to decant it when I get an empty bottle.

Anyways, onto the polish. Golden Nightmare is a black creme packed with golden glitter (depending on the lighting, it can also have an olive tinge). The glitter really comes alive in direct sunlight but gets somewhat "lost" in the black when indoors!
You know those polishes that are supposed to be a 1-coater but we end up applying 2? Well, this one is truly a 1-coater. It's so pigmented, I've never seen anything like it (maybe it's because my one was quite thick because of the crack?!)

I've seen quite a few comparisons of Golden Nightmare and China Glaze Wagon Trail and although the colour may be similar, at a glance Wagon Trail has micro-glitter whilst Golden Nightmare has extremely coarse glitter. 2 coats of regular top coat didn't smooth it out, maybe SV would... Oh well, I feel "badass" wearing coarse glitter anyway! Pin It

Autumn is here to stay now!

Here is somewhat of an autumn mani...finally!!! I've been meaning to post it for so long but then it got hot here again in late September/ early October so it seemed a little out of place. Now it's definitely cold again! Brrrr!

This was based on a post that nihrida did as her entry for an autumn nail art contest back in 2009.
I used yesterday's Kleancolor Cappuccino as a base, some sponging and bm205. It gave me a chance to do some stamping which didn't turn into a complete failure...my stamping abilities are usually mediocre!

Ummm... Cappuccino!

Kleancolor Cappuccino!!! Yum... such a warm, rich autumnal colour! I was waiting for October to swatch this polish and do a fall manicure but then we had a mini "heat wave" here so I opted for lighter colours instead! Now it's cold and rainy again! I wouldn't normally go for browns (although I love nudes) but this one caught my eye!

Anyhow, this is 2 coats of Kleancolor Cappuccino. It applied a dream. I really like Kleancolor polishes, they are cheap , formulas are great and have a good selection of colours. They tick all my boxes despite 1 bottle arriving broken from Beauty Joint but considering what I have read on other blogs about their CS, it was no surprise. I know the strong smell bothers some people but I've never really had a problem.

What do you think of this colour?

Layering Of The Day - Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black over Risque Turmalina

The first polish I tried from my August haul was Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black. I was really curious to see what it would look like on me, and layered over something other than black.

I bought this polish (and a few others) from Beautyjoint and it only cost $1.75! Although the shipping did brake the bank a little! I wish we could get stuff like this here in the UK so as to avoid all the ridiculous shipping charges.

I'm afraid the pictures don't do this polish justice. They were taken at night and this chunky holo glitter is at it's best in direct sunlight but here it is, 2 coats Chunky Holo Black layered over 2 coats of Risque Turmalina.

Oh!You've probably noticed that I've changed my page as well. I just wanted my pics to look a little bigger and I was tired of the old background and wanted to go for something much simpler!
I've also recently got photoshop back so I've been playing around with my watermarks and picture sizes. So bear with me as I try to get all pictures/ posts to look uniform :)

Which do you prefer, old or new? Pin It
