Misa Indescribable & Reverse Silver Glitter Gradient

Christmas is almost upon us and although I haven't particularly worn any Christmas manis this year, I have been wearing plenty of glitters, greens, reds and colours that generally remind me of the holiday season.

For the last couple of days I have been wearing a mani that reminds me of ice/ snow, although it hasn't even snowed in London as of yet!

This is 3 coats of Misa Indescribable. It's an off white with hints of pink and sometimes even has a grey tinge too, depending on lighting. I'm really loving soft colours like this at the moment but this polish was somewhat of a pain to apply. It's very streaky and doesn't even out. Drying time was tedious too, I had to redo two nails because I kept nicking them expecting them to have dried to the touch.

I then added a reverse gradient of silver glitter with New York Summer Las Vegas. It wasn't exactly what I had in mind but the whole look does remind me somewhat of snow and glittery white garland.

It's not even that cold in the UK at the moment but I still can't leave the house with my trusty gloves. I love fingerless gloves. My husband thinks they are ridiculous but they show my mani whilst keeping the rest of my hand warm! Win-win! Lol!

Olympia Beauty Show Haul

Today I was lucky enough to be able to go to the Olympia Beauty Exhibition. Well, depends which way you look at it, considering the damage to my credit card! If you are a nail polish hoarder or beauty junkie, this place is like heaven! There were so many pretty polish stands, I didn't know where to turn!

Everything was so clean and neat on the Essie and OPI stands, they were both packed with people browsing and grabbing bottles but the crowds and queues weren't as bad as I thought they would be. OPI had the entire Skyfall collection in stock apart from The Man With The Golden Gun which I wanted to badly but the lady said they sold out about 1 hour after the doors opened!

Here's some of the stuff I bought:
Skyfall Collection:. L-R: On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Live And Let Die, Casino Royale, You Only Live Twice.

Some other OPI's I was lemming. L-R: Hot & Spicy, Pirouette My Whistle, You Callin' Me A Lyre?, Don't Pretzel My Buttons, Every Month Is Oktoberfest.

OPI was selling for £5.80. Some of the American girls on Instagram were shocked at this "discounted" price as that is what they would usually pay normal price. However, OPI is very expensive in the UK and there are hardly any sales ever, so this is an awesome price for us.

Color Club In True Fashion and some of the Winter Affair 2012 Collection. L-R: Gift of Sparkle, Winter Affair, Glitter Wonderland, Berry And Bright, Editorial.

Some random China Glaze lemmings (Lubu Heels, Ruby Pumps, I Herd That and the only 2 that caught my eye from the Wicked Halloween 2012 collection - Cast A Spell and Make A Spectacle.

L-R: Throw Me Something Purple Please, Uptown Glamour, That's My Little Secret, BreakAway, Indescribable.
Misa was selling for £2 so I grabbed these. I really like Misa and it's really difficult to get our hands on this brand in the UK!

L-R: Night Sparkle, Hieroglyphys Purple, Stylish Peacock, Lavender, Beaute, Twlight Kiss. Nubar was 6 polishes for £20.

To be completely honest, Cuccio is a brand I have never heard of but they did have a vast array of colours on their stand. I couldn't help getting some of these nudes and pinks. The formulas look very good, we'll see.

Phew! I'd been saving up for a while when I found out I had a ticket to this event! It is well worth saving up for if you stick to a budget throughout the rest of the year! This obviously means I won't be buying anymore polish for a very long time! Pin It

Pour Me Something Tall and Strong Jelly Sandwich

I don't usually do many jelly sandwiches, mainly because I wasn't a massive fan of jelly polishes. However, that has recently changed and I'm totally hooked on these. I like the look of suspended glitter and of the depth these create as it makes a change from just having glitter sitting on top of the nail!

I did this blue jelly sandwich a couple of weeks ago when my nails were much shorter. This is Misa Pour Me Something Tall And Strong (3 coats)! I have to be honest here, I only bought this polish because of the name! I think it's so cool :) The glitter is Essence Blair (2 coats).

Layering NOTD: China Glaze Blue Iguana over Misa Pour Me Something Tall And Strong & matte french tips

This was was originally meant to be a swatch of Misa's Pour Me Something Tall and Strong from the Misa Neons: Look On The Bright Side Collection. However, I ended up having to layer it because this polish disappointed me so much.

I'm not quite sure what I was expecting because I purchased this polish on impulse without looking at swatches or reviews (serves me right!), but complete sheerness, having to do at least 4 coats for opacity, a neon that doesn't dry as fast as it's neon cousins, etc... wasn't what I had in mind!!!
On the plus side, this blue looked perfect in the bottle, I still adore the colour itself (like a regal blue only much more fun and brighter) and I can successfully use it to experiment with layering. I just can't get over the sheerness and all that VNL even after 4 coats!

Cue China Glaze Blue Iguana! With another 2 coats of this wonderful medium blue shimmery foil with almost undetectable purple duochrome, also perfect for layering because of its semi-sheer jelly like base, the mani was rescued! After a thick coat of SV to dry up all these layers, here is the end result:

I then added some matte french tips using Orly Blue Suede. I thought the matte would complement the shiny nicely. What do you think?

Nail Polish Haul...before a self-imposed ban!!!

So, a little earlier this afternoon, I received my package from Transdesign. Surfing that website was probably the first thing I did when I got paid last week!!! I wasn't expecting it so quickly because overseas orders usually take much longer than 4 working days! I spent so much money (including shipping) that I must stay on the wagon for a while now before I can justify spending more money on polish.
Here is what I got. A little bit of each brand that isn't widely available in the UK. Swatches of some of these to follow soon:

Here is a close-up:
China Glaze - First Mate, Misa - Pour Me Something Tall & Strong
China Glaze - Towel Boy Toy, New York - Hot Baby Blue
New York - Vegas Silver, Colour Club - Covered in Diamonds, Orly - Purple Pleather
Colour Club - In Bloom, Colour Club - Best Dressed List
China Glaze - Senorita Bonita, China Glaze - Liquid Leather, China Glaze - Recycle
China Glaze - Wagon Trail, China Glaze - Sugar High
